Collaboration Policy

Collaboration is encouraged, but the work you submit for assignments is expected to be entirely your own. The writing and code must be yours, and you must fully understand everything that you submit. Discussing a paper or how to solve a problem is fine, but you must write your submission yourself. List everyone you collaborated with in the assignment write-up. Highly identical work without proper attribution will be handled according to university policy. See the CMU Academic Integrity Guidelines.

Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT are viewed as collaborators in this course and should be acknowledged accordingly.

Late Policy

For homework assignments only, students have a total of five late days for the semester. Late time is counted in calendar days, not hours or minutes; for example, a submission one hour late uses one full late day. Work submitted late after all five days have been used receives a zero. Late days do not apply to the project proposal, presentation, or report.

Course Platforms

Course communication and submissions use three platforms only: Piazza, Gradescope, and the homework GitHub repository. There is no Canvas site for this course.
